The project will be carried out transnationally in 3 countries: Spain, Italy, and Hungary. The Organizations involved in this project are active youth organizations working with diverse groups of young people with fewer opportunities. All partners share a common understanding of the core principles of youth work, interest in non-formal education and motivation to explore new ways of working with young people.
Having in mind the estimate and indicators of the opportunities that could be created by directing youth work in the fields of recycling, and upcycling as a form of environmental protection, the overall objective of this project is set to contribute to the environment-friendly and smart transformation of local communities around the EU youth trough the piloting of a digital non-formal educational framework with a strong practical component. The reason why recycling and upcycling are chosen as the main domains of transformation is quite simple. It is because they offer great potential and they protect the environment, giving young people the opportunity to create something out of nothing, to create art out of used plastic, to protect the environment with their responsibility, making their transition to adulthood fun and independent. The chosen priorities, environment, and digital transformation come together with the ambition of the project to foster the digitalization of youth work through the deployment of e-learning aimed at green art education. With that, we tend to increase the quality, innovation, and recognition of youth work by making it relevant and attractive to young people.
The main project methodology is to use the principles of recycling and upcycling of plastic within a digital format and raise the awareness of climate change through the street-art form of community communication. Having in mind the estimate and indicators of the opportunities that could be created by directing youth work in the fields of recycling, and upcycling as a form of environmental protection, the overall objective of this project is set to contribute to the environment.
